Samsung S95C OLED 4K Smart TV

The 2023 Samsung S95C OLED 4K Smart TV improves upon its predecessor in several critical areas, including increased brightness (1400 nits calibrated) and a thin yet more rigid profile thanks to its use of a separate input box dubbed Slim One Connect. The S95C's use of an efficient quantum dot color converter for its OLED pixels delivers infinite contrast and a picture with exquisite HDR color saturation unmatched by any other display technology. The S95C's 4 HDMI ports support up to 4K 144Hz input for ideal performance with all connected devices. I'm pleased to see the S95C features an ATSC 3.0/NextGen tuner built-in for 4K broadcast reception, and the S95C's Tizen Smart TV OS supports all of the popular streaming services. The pure eye candy of the Samsung S95C is available in 55-inch, 65-inch, and new 77-inch screen sizes.

2023 Sony BRAVIA XR A95L QD-OLED 4K HDR Google TV

If you want the best picture quality in a 2023 4K television, look no further than the Sony Bravia XR A95L! The A95L took first place in a respected 4K HDR TV shootout, and this is the second year in a row that Sony's flagship quantum dot OLED (QD-OLED) display has received this hard-earned reward. QD-OLED's main characteristic is its pure RGB subpixel design that delivers outstanding color purity and brightness compared to other OLED and LCD televisions. The only drawback of the Sony A95L TV is that it is only available in 55-inch, 65-inch, and 77-inch screen sizes. If the size options work for you, the Sony A95L will deliver a premium viewing experience.

2023 Samsung QN900C Neo QLED 8K Smart TV

The 2023 Samsung QN900C Neo QLED 8K Smart TV is the most exemplary LCD I've ever seen. The QN900C's mini-LED backlight system delivers 2x the light output of the best OLED TVs. Its anti-reflective screen surface is also ideal for a bright room viewing environment. The QN900C's Infinity Screen design eliminates the traditional bezel for a stunning presentation. Its Slim One Connect box enables a single-cable connection to the TV for a clean look and simplified cable management. The QN900C is an ideal gaming display with ALLM and VRR support for the latest game consoles as well as 144Hz compatibility for PC sources. It also integrates support for NVIDIA's GeForce NOW game streaming service. The Samsung QN900C is available in 65-inch, 75-inch, and 85-inch screen sizes and is the premium pick for nit-nerds, gamers, and videophiles alike.

LG C3 OLED evo Smart TV

The 2023 LG C3 evo OLED TV improves upon last year's model with an upgraded, more robust panel technology that is potentially brighter. One of my favorite things about the new C3 series of 4K TVs is composite fiber materials that significantly reduce its weight - up to 42% compared to past models. The C3 TVs feature the latest LG video processor for superb picture quality and calibration options. Gamers will love the LG C3 TV's support for 4K 120Hz input, variable refresh rate technology, and 4 HDMI 2.1 ports that feature Quick Media Switching. Be aware that the new 42-inch and 48-inch screens aren't quite as bright as larger models, which include 55-inch, 65-inch, 77-inch, and 83-inch sizes.

TCL QM8 4K Mini LED TV

The 2023 TCL QM8 4K Mini LED TV is fantastic tech for the price. The new QM8 features upgraded Mini LED backlighting with up to 2000 nits of brightness and 2300+ zones of local-dimming control that deliver eye-grabbing picture contrast. The new QM8 supports all popular HDR formats, including Dolby Vision IQ, HDR10+, HDR10, and HLG. PC and console gamers will appreciate the TV's 120Hz panel refresh rate. The QM8's Google TV operating system is easy to use and supports all popular streaming services. My only criticism about TCL's QM8 lineup is the lack of a NextGen/ATSC 3.0 tuner for receiving local 4K broadcasts. The TCL QM8 TVs are currently available in 65-inch, 75-inch, and 85-inch screen sizes.

2023 Hisense U8K ULED TV

The 2023 Hisense U8K Mini-LED 4K TV continues the series trend of providing a compelling value of outstanding picture performance and integrated features. This Google TV-powered display is compatible with Dolby Vision and HDR10 for superb streaming quality. Its mini-LED backlight tech with effective local dimming can deliver an eye-catching brightness of over 1500 nits in SDR and HDR - ideal for brighter viewing environments. Remarkable picture contrast and quantum dot color make the U8K a terrific home theater value. I appreciate that the U8K also includes a NextGen/ATSC 3.0 tuner for receiving local 4K broadcasts, and it calibrates rather nicely! The Hisense U8K is available in 55-inch, 65-inch, and 75-inch screen sizes.
